Lake Martin was formed with the completion of Martin Dam on Alabama’s Tallapoosa River in 1926. The dam was created to supply the area with much needed hydroelectric power. But what resulted was truly awe-inspiring: 44,000 acres of relaxing, deep, blue water, over 750 miles of pristine shoreline, and endless water fun for generations of friends and family. Without question, Lake Martin would have to rank tops among Alabama lakes – and among the finest lakes in the entire United States. |
